WHY IS A CANCER SCREENING NECESSARY?

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime.

WHO WILL PROVIDE THE SCREENING?

The rapid screening will consist of a visual inspection of your skin by a board-certified dermatologist.

CAN I ASK THE DOCTOR TO LOOK AT MY SKIN FOR OTHER CONDITIONS SUCH AS PSORIASIS, ECZEMA, ACNE, ETC.?

SPOTMe skin cancer screenings are for skin cancer only. Seek advice from your regular dermatologist for other dermatologic needs.

HOW LONG WILL THE SCREENING TAKE?

The screening will take approximately 10 minutes including completing the paperwork and having your skin checked.

WHICH AREAS OF MY BODY WILL BE SCREENED?

The screening will take place in a private setting and all areas of exposed skin will be checked. However, because the screenings are rapid, undergarments are to be kept on.

WILL THE SCREENING TAKE THE PLACE OF MY YEARLY EXAM WITH MY DERMATOLOGIST OR PHYSICIAN?

This is a rapid screening for skin cancer and should not replace or be a substitute for a yearly exam with your dermatologist or physician.

 WHY DO I NEED TO COMPLETE FORMS?

The HIPPA compliant form is used to record your screening with both the medical personnel conducting the screening and also the American Academy of Dermatology. The document also allows you to have a record of the screening details and should be used for follow-up treatment if a suspicious lesion is found.

IS THERE A FEE?

The SPOTMe Skin Cancer Screening will be FREE of charge.
