Curettage

Curettage is a simple procedure to remove a skin growth. This is done by numbing the skin and using an instrument to scrape the skin growth off. This will leave a brush burn like spot. Bleeding is usually very minimal and most often controlled with application of a liquid that stops bleeding followed by a bandage. Sometimes curettage is performed after a shave biopsy/removal.
